OTTAWA – A Central Heights High School graduate has been selected to serve as the Franklin County Counselor. Derek Brown has been tabbed by the Franklin County Commission to fill the role, which was previously held by Lisa Johnson, who also served a dual role as county administrator. Brown currently serves as an attorney with a law firm in Topeka, and he tells KOFO News he is looking forward to serving the people he grew up with. Brown is expected to begin his duties with Franklin County on September 15. The Commission is still in the process of selecting a candidate to serve as county administrator.
