OTTAWA — The city of Ottawa has warned city utility customers about bogus collection calls. The city has received reports of someone calling local businesses, claiming to be a secondary company with Kansas City Power & Light, City finance director Scott Bird said. The caller says that the customer is in danger of having electric service turned off and demands credit card information. Bird said the city does not call customers to collect before utility disconnects.
