OTTAWA — An Ottawa man charged with killing another Ottawa man in a traffic accident southeast of Centropolis last September has pleaded no contest guilty to involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of James Richey. His plea was part of a plea deal in which other charges were dropped. Davis was driving along Iowa Road when he lost control of his SUV. It went off the road, rolled over and hit at least three trees. Richey was a passenger in the SUV and was killed. Davis and another passenger were injured. Sentencing will be Oct. 29. He remains in jail.
