TOPEKA — Corn may be king in Kansas but today, the state of Kansas is king of porn. The state is selling the “Fantasy Love Swing” — in black — plus remote-control vibrating thongs, other sex toys and thousands of other adult novelty items, ranging from lingerie to handcuffs, still in the original packaging, through this evening at 6 in an on-line auction. The Kansas Dept. of Revenue seized the items after a chain of adult stores called Bang, also known as United Outlets, failed to pay nearly $164,000 in state sales, income and withholding taxes. However, the revenue department defends the sale, but said it isn’t selling the items. Instead, the department said items were returned to United Outlets, and the company is doing the actual selling. The items are being sold on the Web site equip-bid.com – with the stern warning not to enter that part of the Web site if you’re easily offended or under the age of 18.
