PAOLA — A candidates forum for Miami County legislative candidates will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Paola Community Center. Candidates will give brief introductions and then the public will be able to submit written questions to the candidates. The forum will highlight three Kansas House races in districts covering Miami County. In each, a Republican incumbent is being challenged by a Democrat: In Dist. 26, Republican Larry Campbell faces Democrat Cheron Tiffany. Both are from Olathe. In Dist. 6, Republican Jene Vickrey, Louisburg, faces Democrat Christy Levings, Osawatomie. In Dist. 5, Republican Kevin Jones, Wellsville, faces Democrat Cleon Rickel, Garnett. Miami County Newspapers and the Paola Chamber of Commerce will host the forum. Blake Heid of First Option Bank, will be the moderator.
