OTTAWA — A delegation from ottawa has been invited to take part in the second annual Kaboom Playful City USA leaders summit in Chicago beginning Thursday. The Ottawa team will showcase its Playful Cities projects, including the Forest Park playground. The summit will discuss how community-organized play can improve public health as well as help deal with problems such as crime, obesity, stress, and poverty. The summit will also highlight how playability provides a competitive advantage to attract and retain families The team from Ottawa includes Mayor Linda Reed, Fonda Rose, Doug Reinert, Tommy Sink and Wynndee Lee.
