OTTAWA — A LOH firefighter was arrested following an incident involving a fire truck late Saturday night. Chelsea Matthew, 24, Ottawa, began broadcasting on the county fire channel, saying she had turned on the truck’s lights and siren, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department said. According to a LOH spokesman, she kept yelling into the radio that another firefighter was chasing her and was going to kill her. She also announced she had turned onto Eisenhower Road on the west edge of Ottawa but didn’t know which direction she was driving. Several deputies and Ottawa police converged on Eisenhower. A sheriff’s officer stopped her at 19th and Eisenhower. Investigators didn’t find any evidence that she was in danger from anyone else, Sheriff Jeff Richards said. Matthew wasn’t authorized to have the truck when the incident occurred, he said. Matthew was booked into the jail for suspicion of driving under the influence, Richards said.
