OTTAWA — Retired assistant fire chief Rick Oglesby is the first person to file for the Ottawa City Commission. There are three commission seats up for election next spring. At least one commissioner, Blake Jorgensen, has said he won’t seek re-election. The other two commissioners are Sara Caylor and Shawn Dickinson. All city positions are at-large positions. The top two vote-getters receive four-year terms and the third-place finisher gets a two-year term. Four Ottawa school board positions are also up for re-election next spring. Dennis George said he won’t seek re-election. The other board seats up for election are held by Brian Kane, Susan Ward and David White. All are four-year terms. The filing deadline for all city and school board positions are noon Jan. 27.
