PAOLA — A 55-year-old Greeley man was killed early this morning in a head-on traffic crash near Paola in Miami County. Gerald Wolken, Greeley, was driving west on K-68 about a mile and a half east of U.S. 169 when his pickup truck went across the center line for an unknown reason and crashed head-on with a semi-truck driven by Franklin Britton, 50, Salina, shortly after midnight, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Britton was injured and taken to Overland Park Regional Hospital. The highway patrol said Wolken wasn’t wearing a seat belt. Britton was. The wreck closed K-68 for much of the morning.
