OTTAWA – The Ottawa Price Chopper will be sold to the owners of a  Missouri grocery store. The Queen family of Paola announced they would sell the Ottawa store to the Bressette family, which operates the Bressette’s Price Chopper of Platte City. Co-owner Cy Bressette said the Ottawa store will be their second grocery store. The family had been looking for ways to expand and grow and Ottawa was a good opportunity, he said. Bressette said Ottawa and his family will be a good fit for one another.  Ottawa is larger than Platte City and the store will be different, he said.   One reason is that Missouri state law allows more types of alcohol to be sold in grocery stores and the Missouri store will have a larger selection of alcohol, he said. Instead, the Ottawa store will have an expanded meat market, he said. He said there’s no time set yet for when the deal closes.
