LAWRENCE — Douglas County Emergency Management will host the 15th annual severe weather symposium on Saturday, March 7, in the ballroom of the KU Memorial Union in Lawrence. The session is the only advanced severe weather training of its kind in Kansas and Missouri, said Jillian Rodrigue, Douglas County Emergency Management. The training will deal with advanced storm development, spotter safety, and the importance of spotter reports, she said. The presentations will include storm videos, presentations by experts in the field, and will conclude with a panel discussion with the presenters, National Weather Service meteorologists, and local television meteorologists.  The fee is $15, which includes a light breakfast and lunch ticket.
