GARNETT — The 19th annual trail celebration dinner hosted by the Friends of the Prairie Spirit Trail will be tonight at 6 at the community building in Garnett’s North Lake Park. The “birthday bash” begins with a silent auction at 6, followed by a buffett meal at 6:30. Items for this year’s auction include two 18-hole rounds of golf, dinner theater tickets, oil changes, a one-night Jacuzzi suite stay at the Garnett Inn and Suites, portable barbecue grill with tools and two 20-pound propane bottle refills, home décor, outdoor items as well as gift cards and certificates from area merchants, restaurants and the Garnett Recreation Center. Proceeds from the silent auction are the primary funds for the Friends trail enhancement projects. Guest speakers will give updates on trail projects and upcoming Friends activities. The celebration is open to the public. Tickets are $10 and can be bought at the door.
