OTTAWA — Construction is beginning on a new Price Chopper store today. Infrastructure contractor, GB Construction, is building 19th Street between Princeton Circle and Princeton Street, as well as sidewalks, utilities, stormwater drains and a connection to the Prairie Spirit Trail, city planning director Wynndee Lee said. The project is expected to take about three months until early June. Lee said drivers should be alert to the work going on along the lanes nearest the site and take precautions as they drive. Work on the building will begin in early June, once the most of the infrastructure and site pad are done, she said. This project is funded by the developer, Super Market Developers, with tax increment funds. The developer will get the investment back over time, she said.
