OTTAWA — An Ottawa police officer who was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence following a crash last month is no longer with the police department. Derek Butters was booked after his truck hit a city utility pole Feb. 23. He suffered minor injuries in the accident. Butters, an Ottawa police officer for two years, was off duty and wasn’t in uniform when the accident occurred.
