WELDA — A contractor has resumed a resurfacing project in southern Anderson County and northern Allen County this week. The Kansas Dept. of Transportation said U.S. 169 between Welda and Iola is being resurfaced and the project should be done later this summer. The project started last year but was halted because of winter weather. Traffic is being reduced to one lane and is being controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. KDOT said there will be daytime delays of 15 minutes or less.
