OTTAWA — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department received theft reports prior to and during the weekend. In the 4300 block of Montana Road north of Ottawa, the Harris Welding Shop reported the theft of several tools as result of a burglary last week. The loss was estimated at approximately $960. A 74-year-old Pomona man reported the past theft of a Cool Pix camera and Tom Tom GPS from his car in the 100 block of Madison Street of Pomona earlier this year. The loss was estimated at $428. A 55-year-old Lane woman reported Friday that a 22-caliber handgun was stolen from a truck parked on her property in the 4500 block of Finney Road north of Lane. The loss was estimated at $50. A 42-year-old Ottawa woman reported Saturday morning that a 25-year-old man who was a relative took a her vehicle from the 2300 block of Pawnee Road west of Ottawa without permission and then texted her to tell her that he did so. The sheriff’s office said he also refused to bring the vehicle back after numerous attempts to convince him to do so. A report was forwarded to the county attorney’s office.
