WESTPHALIA — A 77-year-old Garnett man who rode his antique tractor in Westphalia’s 135th anniversary parade Sunday afternoon was seriously injured while loading his tractor after the event.  The Anderson County Sheriff’s Department told the Anderson County Review that Marvin Teter Part drove the tractor in the one-hour parade and then tried to load the tractor onto a trailer but apparently the brake was not fully engaged.  When he got off the tractor, the tractor came off the trailer and fell onto him.  The sheriff’s office said emergency vehicles had to navigate through the  the paradeto get from the fire station to the scene of the accident a few blocks away.  Teter was taken by helicopter to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.  A family member reported on Facebook that Teter was in intensive care and suffered multiple broken ribs, broken vetebra in his lower back, a broken pelvis and other injuries, the Review reported.
