ARGENTINE — A community group said today they want the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad to reduce diesel exhaust emissions at the giant Argentine rail yard in Kansas City, Kan.  With the help of environmental groups, the Argentine/Turner Good Neighbor Committee tested air quality at homes near the massive Argentine rail yard, which is the second largest in the nation, for more a year, and found levels of diesel exhaust air pollution that the group says pose a health hazard to neighbors.  The groups released the study results today and are holding a community meeting 6 p.m. today at the Kansas City, Kan, Library.  The group will ask the railroad to adopt of list of recommendations they say will keep the air pollution away from the residential neighborhoods.  There was no immediate response from the railroad.
