OTTAWA — A powerful storm caused some property damage and knocked out electrical power to the northern side of Ottawa as it ripped through part of the city Monday night. Several trees and limbs were downed, fences and accessories were destroyed and the Plaza Theater sign was damaged. There was no immediate report of injuries or an estimate of damage. The storm was part of several powerful thunderstorms, as well as one tornado warning, that popped up Monday night in eastern and central Kansas.
