OTTAWA — Interim executive director Leslie Bjork has been named the new executive director for the Elizabeth Layton Community Mental Health Center. The former clinical director at the Layton Center since September, 2006, Bjork became interim director in February when Diane Drake retired. “Leslie has done a great job to facilitate a smooth transition for ELC’s staff and clients as well as with state officials,” Layton Center board chair Keith Tully said. “In her six months as Interim Director she has demonstrated solid leadership skills and has gained the confidence of the Board.” Bjork has a doctorate in clinical psychology from Indiana State University and served an internship at the Kansas City Veterans Administration Medical Center before opening a practice in Miami County. The Layton Center offers mental health care and services in Franklin and Miami counties.
