SCRANTON — The Kansas Dept. of Health and Environment said has issued a public health advisory for a tributary to 110 Mile Creek in Scranton and 110 Mile Creek east of Scranton. The advisory was issued because of suspected elevated levels of bacteria and other pollutants. The cause of the pollutants is a damaged sewer line in the city of Scranton, the KDHE said. Contact with the water poses a health risk to both humans and animals. The advisory will be rescinded once water samples show no health risk and water contact has been deemed safe.
