OTTAWA — Three people fled an early morning fire at the 1229 S. Cedar. They escaped without injury, Fire Chief Jeff Carner said. The fire started in the kitchen area of the home and was contained to the immediate area, he said. The fire was reported shortly after 1 a.m. The fire was caused by an electrical problem, he said. The fire caused an estimated in $20,000 damage to the house and contents, Carner said. The American Red Cross responded to the scene to help the occupants with their temporary needs until repairs can be made.
