WELLSVILLE — The funeral for Dawn Michelle Caruthers, 48, Baldwin City, was Monday night at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville. She was killed in a motorcycle accident the evening of Sept. 4 in Leavenworth County. She was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Steven Harris, 45, Baldwin City, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Harris was going east on K-32 when his motorcycle left the road, went into a grassy ditch and overturned, throwing Harris and Caruthers, the highway patrol said. Harris was injured and was taken to KU Medical Center. She was dead at the scene and her body was taken directly for an autopsy. The highway patrol said neither was wearing a helmet.
