WASHINGTON — If you’re outside at night this weekend, look up. Venus, Jupiter and Mars are aligning in a rare formation that won’t be seen again until January 2021. The brightest of the three planets is Venus. The other planets in the formation, Jupiter and Mars, are much dimmer but still highly visible. The planets will be visible near dawn in the eastern sky near the horizon through the first week of November. There’s also a good chance to see an unusual meteor shower this weekend. The web site spaceweather.com says the annual Taurid meteor shower should be visible high in the sky on Halloween at about midnight. The shower may include what astronomers call “Halloween Fireballs,” which are especially large and bright meteors.
