OTTAWA — Charges have been filed in the death of Ottawa University student and football player, Sam Brazeal 19, Perrin, Texas. Another OU student, Jordan Reed, 20, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter-DUI and failure to report a fatality accident. Bond has been set for $50,000, Franklin County Attorney Stephen Hunting said. Reed’s next court hearing has been set for Dec. 2. Reed is accused of being the driver of a full-size pickup truck going along the Flint Hills Nature Trail and going off a pedestrian bridge about two miles southeast of Ottawa. The truck fell 20 feet into a dry creek bed, killing Brazeal.
