OTTAWA — A fire damaged a downtown business building late Wednesday night. The fire occurred upstairs in the building housing the Primitive Treasures in the 200 block of South Main Street. The fire was contained relatively quickly in an area on the roof, said Ottawa Fire Department Capt. Dennis Nowatzke. The cause was under investigation today. The damage to the building and contents was estimated at $20,000. In a Facebook posting, the owner of Primitive Treasures said she fled the building but wasn’t injured. The owner reports the electric power was cut to the building. She said that she would try to reopen by Monday.
