OTTAWA — A Kansas City-based grocery chain was scheduled to formally take possession of the Price Chopper stores in Ottawa and Platte City, Mo., today. Cosentino’s Food Stores bought the two Price Choppers from the Bresette family. Cosentino’s operates 28 stores under the Price Chopper, SunFresh, Apple Market and Cosentino’s Market names. Cosentino’s said it expects to retain all of the Pttawa employees and doesn’t plan any major changes. The company plans to open the new Ottawa store, which is under construction, in the spring.
