OTTAWA — Because Kansas State Extension wildlife specialist Charlie Lee, who was the guest speaker, was hospitalized and can’t give the program, the Frontier Extension District has cancelled Wednesday night’s “Calling All Coyotes” meeting in Ottawa.  No new date has been set; and it likely won’t be rescheduled until fall, said Frontier Extension District’s Rod Schaub.  He said he’s heard reports that area coyotes are becoming more bold and have attacked young calves in the area. The coyote population isbelieved to be at an all time high, roaming all of North America, including many cities, he said.  Coyotes will eat almost anything including rabbits, mice, frogs, deer, insects, snakes, watermelosn, tomatoes, livestock, and even snacking on the occasional household pets.
