OTTAWA–A nearby pump station and creek figured prominently at the Ottawa Planning Commission meeting. The site plan for the new elementary school to be built near 19th and Eisenhower won approval, but several commission members expressed concern about children wandering into high water during heavy rains. School officials assured the commission that child safety was utmost in planning for the new school.
