OTTAWA– Perhaps it’s back to the future. Former Ottawa city commissioner Blake Jorgensen will become the newest city commissioner. Jorgensen and Ken Woods had applied for a the vacant commission position and were interviewed at Monday’s commission study session. Commissioner Linda Reed said although Woods would bring new ideas to the city, she said that with a new commissioner – Emily Graves was recently appointed to fill another vacancy – rather than add a second new commissioner who had to learn the ropes, she preferred to pick Jorgensen, who has 10 years of experience on the commission. Other commissioners agreed. He’ll be formally elected to the commission Wednesday morning. He will fill a vacancy created by Shawn Dickinson, who resigned.
