WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Star Mart was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon. A person described as a white man entered the store with a shotgun and demanded money from the clerk, Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Richards said. The robber fled south on I-35, he said. Richards said his office is following up several good leads and the investigation continues. It’s highly likely the bandit targeted the store and the heist wasn’t an opportunity for someone driving by on I-35, he said. The robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
