OTTAWA — Ottawa firefighters were called twice in two days to deal with a power line fire behind a downtown business building at 216 S. Main St. A power line dropped down in the rear of the building Tuesday afternoon and caught fire, Ottawa Fire Chief Tim Mathias said. The fire caused a power outage in the business. On Wednesday afternoon, the power lines arced and a spark fell into a plastic trash can on the deck of the second floor patio, causing a fire in the trash can, he said. An employee put out the fire before firefighters arrive. Mathias said the only damage was to the plastic trash can and that was about $30.
