GARDNER — A World War I replica airplane crashed at the Gardner Municipal Airport Thursday night. Charles Gerlach, 47, Golden Valley, Ariz., was landing a Nieuport 11, when it stalled, he lost control and the plane crashed 100 feet off the runway, the Kansas Highway Patrol said. Gerlach wasn’t injured, the highway patrol said.
