LANE — A 41-year-old Iola man received minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash north of Lane Tuesday night. Richard Barton was driving east around the curve in the 1000 block of Virginia Road when he swerved to miss a deer, the Franklin County Sheriff’s office said. His Jeep Cherokee left the road on the north side, struck a sign and a tree and then rolled over. The sheriff’s office said although he was injured, Barton left the scene. The case is under investigation.
