TOPEKA — The Kansas Supreme Court has upheld the conviction of Ralph Corey, and denied his appeal.  Corey was convicted more than three years ago in Franklin County District Court of aggravated kidnapping and the attempted rape of a teenager in 2000 in Ottawa.  The case was cold more than a decade until a tissue sample match matched Corey’s DNA.  He was serving time in prison in arizona.  Corey had appealed to both the kansas appeals court and supreme court, citing various alleged errors in his case, but both appellate courts found that the evidence against corey was so strong that any errors in his trial were not substantial enough to warrant a new trial.  Corey is serving a 33-year prison sentence in a Kansas prison.
