OTTAWA — A fire that severely damaged Keim Bakery Tuesday night started in the basement area of the building, said Fire Chief Tim Matthias. Investigators from Ottawa Fire Department and the Kansas Fire Marshal’s Office have yet to determine the cause of the fire, he said. There is no estimate on damage to the building and contents, he said. The bakery has sustained major smoke damage to the basement and first floor with moderate fire damage in the basement, he said.
