OTTAWA — A preliminary hearing for Andrew Mayfield III in connection with a fight that hospitalized two people this summer has been rescheduled to Aug. 29. He has been charged with aggravated battery. The fight in the 100 block of South Elm sent Kevin Elsasser and Christina Elssasser, both of Ottawa, to Ransom Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police said Mayfield fled the fight scene and was captured a day later. A woman also charged in the incident, Leah Maynard, of Ottawa, accepted a plea deal and pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of misdemeanor battery.
