OTTAWA — The Ottawa school board has set aside more than $100,000 for three years to pay Ottawa school administrators for the extra work involved for managing the various projects under the school bond program.  Ottawa Supt. Jeanne Stroh, assistant superintendent Dr. Ryan Cobbs, and Josh Robinson are probably in for some extra pay for managing the various projects. The district is building the new Sunflower Elementary School at 19th and Eisenhower and major rebuilds at the high school and other work. The board also plans smaller amounts of extra compensation for board clerk Teri George for handling the bond issue budget. Board member Bill Allegre expressed some worry during a recent meeting that the public may think the extra payments as a frivolous use of public funds.  Because of the adminstrators’ work “… I think we’ve saved as much money as we’re offering here,” Allegre said. The school board is expected to make a decision on the payment amounts at next Monday night’s meeting.
