GARNETT — One student was taken to Anderson County Hospital in Garnett Friday morning after an Anderson County USD 365 school bus was rear-ended while trying to turn from U.S. 169 onto a country road south of Garnett. A Facebook posting by the school district says one student was taken to the hospital for testing but says the injury wasn’t serious. The student and the driver of the car who hit the bus weren’t immediately identified. The other students were taken to school following the accident. The school district said the bus driver, John Strobel, reacted quickly to prevent the bus from turning over. The district also thanked the Anderson County Sheriff’s office and emergency management for their quick response.
