GARNETT — A missing Anderson County man has been found dead. After a two-day search, the body of Devyn Long, 24, Garnett, was found in rural Anderson County Tuesday, said Sheriff Vernon Valentine. There was no immediate evidence of foul play in Long’s death, Valentine said. However, the cause of death won’t be determined until an autopsy is performed, he said. More than 20 people, including members of the sheriff’s office and Kansas Bureau of Investigation, Anderson County and Garnett firefighters and volunteers spent two long days in cold weather looking for Long, he said. Long had been missing since Friday. His car was found abandoned by a mail carrier Saturday on Missouri Road near 1500 Road between Garnett and Welda. Valentine said Long’s mother expresses thanks to the searchers and to the people who submitted tips to the sheriff’s office during the search.
