OTTAWA — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in a home in the 600 block of South Mulberry approximately 10 p.m. Tuesday night. A 17-year-old Olathe man was taken by private vehicle to the Ransom Memorial Hospital emergency room with a gunshot wound shortly about 10:12 p.m., assistant police chief Adam Weingartner said. He didn’t identify the gunshot victim. The wound was non-life-threatening, and the teen was treated at RMH, he said. “This remains an active investigation; detectives and officers will continue to work through to recover evidence and determine what led to the shooting,” Weingartner said. “More interviews will be done to gather facts; we are asking anyone with information to call dispatch or call Crime Stoppers.” Detectives obtained a search warrant and collected evidence at the home, he said. They interviewed several people and will talk to more, he said. However, they haven’t found the gun used in the shooting, he said.
