OTTAWA – After a tense nearly three-hour standoff, an Ottawa police crisis negotiator talked a suicidal man sitting on the railing of the Main Street bridge over the Marais Des Cygnes River Monday evening. During the standoff, rescue crews were stationed below the bridge. The man’s identity and what happened after he surrendered wasn’t immediately known.
