MELVERN LAKE — Authorities continue to investigate unidentified human remains found at Melvern Lake. A park ranger from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers discovered the skeletal remains during a routine check of the area called Turkey Point waterfront at about 5:30 p.m. Friday, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation said. The ranger contacted Osage County Sheriff’s office, who then contacted the KBI. KBI agents and the Crime Scene Response Team were dispatched to the scene. Forensics anthropology experts from Washburn University are also helping in the on-going investigation.
