OTTAWA – There will a whole lot of orange. The 23rd annual Power of the Past antique gas engine and tractor show will also include “The Gathering of the Orange,” The national Allis Chalmers tractor show. Because of the Allis show, there could be a record 500 tractors from across the nation showing up, said Power of the Past president David Reeves. Maytag engines will be highlighted in addition to AC tractors. The show is Friday through Sunday at Forest Park, Ottawa. The weekend will be packed with activities and demonstrations including threshing, baling, rock-crushing, rope-making using antique engines and tractors; horse-drawn grinding, food and live entertainment, Reeves said. The ever-popular Parade of Power, in which tractors drive around the inner park road, will be 2 p.m. each day. Cost is $3 for the entire weekend. Children 12 and under are free. Friday night includes includes the free ham and bean feed for those who have paid the admission fee.
