PARKER — Kansas state senator Caryn Tyson has completed a 25-county tour in which she visited every county in the Kansas 2nd Congressional District. Tyson is one of several people running for the Congressional district seat being vacated by Lynn Jenkins. She said she was encouraged by the positive feelings she received during the tour, and plans to run a grassroots campaign. Others seeking the Republican nomination are Kevin Wells, state representative from Wellsville; Bonner Springs city council member Vernon Wells; state senator Steve Fitzgerald, Leavenworth; and Antonio Soave, former state commerce secretary. On the Democratic side, former state House Minority Leader Paul Davis, who challenged Sam Brownback for governor; and Kelley Standley, minister and business analyst from Neosho County.
