TOPEKA – Gov. Sam Brownback announced several appointments to state boards and commissions that include two people with local ties. Brandon Jones, Ottawa; was reappointed to another four-year term on the Racing and Gaming commission. He is the county attorney for both Anderson and Osage counties. Ann Brandau-Murguia has been named to another four-year term on the Board of Regents, which governs universities and community colleges in the state. She is the executive director of the Argentine Neighborhood Development Association of Kansas City and a member of the Wyandotte Unified Government board of commissioners. She graduated from Ottawa University and received a master’s degree from Baker University. , Those and the other appointments must be confirmed by the senate.
