OTTAWA – Advance voting for the local elections will begin Tuesday. Voters can cast their ballots early at the clerk’s office through election day Nov. 7, Franklin County Clerk Janet Paddock said. “If we’ve got out sign out, you can come in and vote,” she said. Paddock’s office will be open for advance voting on a Saturday – Nov. 4. This is the first time Franklin County voters will vote for municipal and school board members in November, she said. Legislators moved the local elections from the spring time to Novembers. Advanced mail ballots were mailed out last week and Paddock said her office has received the first batch. Voters can request mail ballots but Paddock said they should contact her as soon as possible. One new wrinkle, now if ballots postmarked by election day and reach her office by the following Friday, they’ll now be counted, she said.
