OLATHE – The preliminary hearing for an Ottawa man charged with capital murder and rape in Johnson County has been set for April 4. Attorneys for Korrey Rinke, 24, have filed documents that say they intend to challenge the constitutionality of statements he made to police after he was arrested. A preliminary hearing will determine whether there’s enough evidence to justify a trial for Rinke. Rinke was charged after police said he told them that he had raped and beat Julianna Pappas, 46, Overland Park, during their date and left her to die near a popular trail in an Overland Park in August 2016.
