OVERBROOK – TRACE, the regional anti-crime cooperative, has issued an alert an about 20 calves that disappeared slightly more than a month ago from a pasture northeast of OVERBROOK in rural Douglas County. The cattle, which were owned by Tanner Nitcher, Pomona; were likely stolen but may have wandered off. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department has described the cattle as mostly heifers and steers, with one or two bulls. The calves were black in color and unbranded, with red ear tags in their left ears. Each tag had the letters N-N and the numbers 17-15, followed by numbers between 1 and 50. Each of the calves weigh 400-500 pounds. TRACE says if you have information about the cattle, call your local law enforcement agency or the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department at 785-843-0250.
