OTTAWA — A Lawrence man who pleaded guilty in a home invasion and police chase that occurred a year ago in eastern Ottawa will do at least two years in prison. District Judge Douglas Wittman sentenced Donivan Perryman to 26 months in prison for burglary and interference with a law enforcement officer. Perryman faces an additional sentence in Douglas County and Wittman said that will be added to the Franklin county sentence. Perryman was originally charged with 15 counts but agreed to a plea deal. Perryman and Jacob Kennedy of Ottawa were charged in the incident, which occurred last December. Before he was sentenced, Perryman said he had gone to the home to collect some of his possessions and had been invited into the home when Kennedy pulled out a gun. Perryman said he didn’t know that Kennedy had a gun. Earlier this year, Kennedy was sentenced to 34 months in prison.
